Glitsy and shiny at the store front are garments, heavily embelished with spikes, jewels, pearls and studs. It seems to have been around for a good while now, but these things are noticably getting larger and larger. The embellishment trend are found on dresses, skirts, blouses, and jackets. Small beads in an array of colors are used to create intricate patterns that result in a feeling of beauty and wealth. Crown jewels and large spikes hanging on a shirt is somethign that used to be "too much", but now, it is totally acceptable and a fun twist to give for your existing style pallete.Putting on an embellished jacket or blazer with any outfit will automatically “dress up” the look and add a whole other dimension to otherwise, traditional silhouettes.

Inside the studio: LA standards photo shoot.
December 9th was a big day. On a cold and rainy Sunday afternoon at our DTLA studio, we had our first photo shoot for Stereotypes' look book. The creator of super cute and feminine, handmade props was Yoko Mizuide, our designer, buyer, creative director,,, she does everything! Thanks to collaboration of her multi-talents with our photographer Chris, the photo shoot turned out great. Our models were twin sisters, Jasmine and Jade, which was also a perfect match with Stereotype's main design theme to create something derived from fate and destiny that was told by myths and fortune tellings that all girls can't help to find out. (To boys, it's a girl thing ;)) Jasmine and Jade in blue and pick rara skirts was just a perfect depiction of innocent femme, reminding those who see it the "Gemini", the twins of 12 zodiac signs. Here are some behind the scene pictures from the shoot. The actual look book will be available January 2013.
