Nail X Style

In contrast to last week's post, where LA street influence was taken across the ocean to Tokyo street brand, much of the recent exploration with nail art has been brought over from the street of Tokyo. Ever since Nylon magazine featured an article introducing varieties of nail art, we have been adventurous to seek more vivid and unique nail. Manicure has certainly become another place to make a statement about our own style. Compared to long and pointy nail as a popular nail shape in Tokyo, the main stream shape of LA seems to be shorter, off-squared. Colors and patterns are very much following the main stream fashion trends of the place. Of course in LA, many girls like to put on some bight colors on their nail for the summer time. Switching and mixing of colors for each finger nail is also a unique way to create different looks. Comic screens, Aztec pattern, bedazzled, and sponge art over colorful base definitely fit the bright So-Cal summer scene.
